First day in a new job

It’s my first day in a new job today – I’m joining Plum Consulting to focus on economic regulation of telecommunications and spectrum.  Going from a massive organisation like Deloitte (with 13,000 people in the UK) to a small one like Plum (with 11) is going to be a bit of a culture shock!  The offices are on Kingsway, right next to Holborn underground station, so if anyone is in the area there let me know and we can meet up for lunch!

Visiting the park with Finley and Jack

This afternoon, while Justine was at work, we were visited by Pip, Tom, Finley and Jack, who were getting ready to go back home after Christmas.  It was a lovely sunny day, so after lunch we went for a walk up the road to the playground. Continue reading

Gamer in training

What a difference six years make

On 7 December 2006, Tim went to HMV on Oxford Street with Kieron and John to buy a Wii at the midnight launch.  Having spent hundreds of pounds on hardware and launch games, we drove up to Cambridge and spent a few hours at John’s house setting up and playing the games in Wii Sports, before going to bed around 4am on 8 December. Nicholas’s first sponsored swim

In future years, Nicholas may well swim several kilometres in order to raise money for charity.  For now, though, he went around half a metre, propelled by his Dad towards the swimming instructor, Shelley. Continue reading
