Grumpy baby!

Whenever we have visitors, Nicholas is as good as gold, either sleeping throughout the visit or, when he is awake, looking at his new friends and family with big eyes.  When we are left alone with him, however, he can sometimes get quite upset!

Nicholas meets great aunts

An evening out

We have just returned from our first evening out with Nicholas.  We went shopping in Stratford this afternoon, and decided to stay out for dinner as it was getting late.  We went to Bumpkin, where they removed a table so that we could sit with the pram next to us.  However, Nicholas decided he didn’t like laying still in his pram, and so Justine had to eat her dinner one-handed while holding him.  Luckily she ordered fish!

Nicholas meets Kath, Schellion and Tom

Nicholas and Finley

Nicholas hasn’t really settled down in his Moses basket for the past few weeks, which has meant that one of Tim or Justine have to sit up during the night to hold him.  As a result, we have been trying to put him to bed as often as possible so that he sees it as a comfortable place.  He often lays there awake as a result!

Andrew’s stag do

Tim has been at Andrew’s stag do this weekend, leaving Justine and Nicholas at home with Eileen.  The main activity was Go Ape at Leeds Castle, followed by a roast beef dinner and an evening of Singstar and other video games.  Tim managed to get six hours of sleep from 2am to 8am, which is a relative luxury at the moment.

Andrew and Anne will be married in two weeks’ time in the Lake District, and we will be going with Nicholas!

We were visited today by Colin and Maria, who brought a Finding Nemo snuggle blanket for Nicholas.  Nicholas was very awake while his visitors were here, and practiced his big mouth expressions with Colin!
