We are now firmly placed in our new house, surrounded by hundreds of boxes.  We have no idea where all this stuff lived in our old flat!  It’s going to take quite a while to sort everything out, but at least we now have a loft in which to store things we’re not using!

We’re moving, finally, and today is packing day.  While we’ve spent a lot of time over the last few weeks sorting out what we need and throwing away heaps of rubbish, our flat remained a living area with shelves full of books, drawers full of clothes, and a TV cabinet full of consoles.

Today, though, we have Military Movers in, who are filling hundreds of boxes fuelled only by tea and biscuits.  The only problem we have is that Nicholas hates the sound of packing tape coming off the roll, so he is frequently bursting into tears as each box is completed.

Still, hopefully he will find the extra space in our new house worth the tape fears!

We have been in Devon, near Banstable, for the past week, on holiday with Tim’s family and Justine’s Mum.  Nicholas has enjoyed having his cousins, aunts and uncles, and of course his grandparents around.  Tim and Justine have appreciated having the extra pairs of hands as well! Continue reading →
