Nicholas meets Nicholas

We went down to Lympne today, to celebrate a year since our wedding at the church where we got married.  Everyone was very pleased to see us, and were delighted to meet Nicholas.

Nicholas’s black and white poster

Nicholas has a black and white poster of circles next to his changing table.  When he was younger, he would get very engrossed in the patterns, and stare at them even as he was picked up after being changed.

This wasn’t a real poster, though, but instead was some wrapping paper which Justine found in a card shop!

Shoreham village fête

We are visiting Shoreham fête where there are lots of exciting stalls and activities. Nicholas doesn’t seem overly impressed with anything though – but he enjoyed meeting Emma, and gave her a huge smile. Continue reading

Advanced writing

Nicholas joined in our celebrations for our first anniversary by presenting us with a card.  We think he might have had a bit of help from his Nana with the writing.

Our first anniversary

Today marks the first anniversary of our wedding.  It’s hard to believe it was only a year ago that we had the best day ever down in Lympne, and there are hundreds of moments that we constantly remember. Chatting with Grandad

Nicholas communicates a lot now – we’re a little worried that he seems to like the sound of his own voice quite a lot, since there are times when he will talk for hours at a time.  He talks most when he is happy, though he has been known to complain from time to time!

This afternoon he had a long conversation with his Grandad.  We’d love to know what he thinks he’s saying!

He is now able to make lots of consonant sounds, and bits of words like “ing” and “boo” and “maa”.  We don’t think he’ll be a late talker!

Cuddles with his tiger

When Jo and Gabrielle visited Nicholas last weekend, they gave him a very large cuddly tiger.  So large, in fact, that Nicholas is only just the larger of the two!

Nicholas meets Louise, Naomi, Jo and Gabrielle

While we were visiting Justine’s mum at home, three of her school friends came to visit.  Nicholas enjoyed his cuddles with Louise, Naomi and Jo, although we were quite worried that it may induce Louise into labour!

Nicholas meets Stanley George (his Great Uncle)

After Nicholas met his Great Aunt Barbara a couple of weeks ago, he had been looking forward to meeting Stanley George.  Nicholas was in a very chatty mood when they visited, and he gripped onto Stanley George’s finger very tightly!
